Two hundred feet away from the rock-fort Eve constructed, two small gangs were establishing a drug deal. The gangs members were mostly made up of teenagers, lost souls that tried to find new families after the war. If it weren't for the teen population dropping and worrying mothers, the vigilante would have never found out about the gangs. She gathered as much information she could before confronting the street kids. It shouldn't be that hard; most of the kids ranged form 13-20, at from the looks of it only about ten of them were standing by. One gang was from the Southern Third, the other from the Middle. They retrieved their guns from desolated war spots, and only aided the leaders and shrimps of the pact. Knocking them out shouldn't be so hard, only two members held firearms, the rest small shanks or just their bare fists. The lightning-themed hero planned on wiping them out, confiscating the drugs, and contact the closest middle section police department to take home their gang. Evelyn had loose connections with her home's police station, due to the fact that most were dirty cops, but they'd come when they find out about the drug bust. Evelyn crunched down, keeping a careful ear n the conversation nearby. Ev looked up once small, cold drops patted her. Thin, bleak, gray clouds rolled in, leaving scattered driblets. The raven-haired girl dug through her bag, pulling on the string of her bow to make sure it was adjusted correctly. She laid her arrows out, making sure each was sharp and ready. Evelyn made a mental note to make a camouflage outfit, since her starching white and bright blues and yellows stuck out like a sore thumb against the rocks. And her black costume wouldn't do much help either. Piercing shots interrupted her thoughts. The sixteen year old shook her head to clear the small head ache that form, as her ears rang. From what she could make out one gang was threatening the other, and she had to move fast before any blood shed. Desponia rustled through her bag, grabbing the few things left she needed before aiming her arrow at the raised gun. The arrow skillfully knocked the gun out of the leader's hand. Picking up increasingly, the wind whipped about in the clearing, making it slightly more difficult to shoot arrows. With a swift kick to the wrist of the other rm bearer, Eve readied her bow at any incoming attacks. With the two guns out of the way, the fight was much more even. The gangsters fighting style was sloppy, but a lot of raw power surged through them. Any wrong move and Eve could end up with a nasty bruise. The fight was going well. Only eleven faced her; one ran off. Kick here, punch there, block this, elbow thrust that. Nine minutes in to the fight, two were knocked out, one had a broken wrist, and others had minor injuries. Adrenaline coursed through her veins, she could feel and hear her blood pumping erratically throughout her body. Toying with one goon by letting him throw punches at her, someone caught her eye. A small boy, who had to be only eleven, was cowering by the rocks. Fear locked in to his eyes, causing the illusion of him even more tinier. A pang hit her in the chest, as he reminded her so much of her late brother. Slightly shaking her head, she distanced herself, reminding herself not to weave her personal issues with her work. Eve twisted her head around back to her opponent, only to meet face-to-fist. A sharp shriek escaped her lips as she fell to the ground. The pain was intense, which caused one hand to be clutched at her head. She's been punched before, countless of times, but still the ending result was always excruciating. But Eve knew she couldn't give up, her mission could not fail only because she was injured. With a small grunt, Eve sluggishly hauled her self up, bracing her fists sloppily. And that was when all her hopes of winning the fight dropped. Nearing twenty-five gang members surrounded her, and now it all makes sense. Of course the gangs would have back-up, no wonder that kid ran off. Eve hoped whatever God or gods that were out there were in her favor. Flawless sig is flawless
"Ganging up on one man is dishonorable."
Stronghold-Adam, rounded a corner, the moonlight glinting off of his back. He balled his fists angrily. The gang members turned, their beady eyes glinting with bloodlust. Adam shrugged and readjusted his gloves. "Or woman. Or girl. Whatever suits your fancy."
A few of the gangmembers broke off, scared silly by the fact that the leader of Team II was standing in front of them, trained by Ace, and so on and so forth.
Adam kind of liked imagining the fact that they ran away for these reasons in his head, regardless of the fact that he couldn't do much if they didn't approach him first. He was smarter than to charge into battle aimlessly. He had to wait first. And find the best angle in order to get Eve- Lightning Strike- back on her feet.
He had a good plan in his head. "So are you all just gonna stand there, should I lure you with some treats," He paused, and turned, his masked face now completely seen. "or are you too afraid to even try?"
One of them finally charged, holding a switchblade out in front of him, his form absolutely horrendous. He let out a battle cry.
"Oh, please," Adam scoffed, before catching his attacker's wrist and tossing him against the brick wall.
At this, more and more came at him, all of them denied their chance of making a single blow. Eventually, all of them were fallen but a single one, who bolted as soon as Adam gave him a harsh stare.
Finally, Adam made his way to Eve and helps her up, hoisting her to her feet gently but quickly. "You okay?" he asked.

Maybe, just maybe, if she shot her arrows quick enough, she could get out of this somewhat alive. Rolling towards her bow, She grabbed an arrow, releasing it towards one man's thigh. It wouldn't do much damage, but it would stun them long enough for a quick escape route. Eve shot another man when she noticed a tall, dark brown haired man standing above the clearing, towering over the gang members. As their attentions turned towards the new comer, Eve aimed arrows at the back of their knees. He heard him make a comment about being a man or girl or something like that. She wasn't really paying attention.
"Hero. I prefer the term hero." she whispered, doubting he heard her.
He taunted at them, and was quite surprised at the idiocy some of them showed. Noticing some gangsters were doubling up on him, she decided to help him, though it was unnecessary. She observed the mysterious teen; he was quite powerful, and wasn't even breaking a sweat while battling. Impressed, she watched him for a while. He was quite well trained, and she grew an innocent interest for the boy.
Only moments later, he was at her side, pulling her up. Gently, but a little too fast, as she grimaced at the pain that throbbed at her head. She did her best to shake the discomfort off her face. "I'm fine." she nodded slowly. "You as well?" she glanced up briefly as she dug through her utility belt. Shuffling through some pouches, Evelyn pulled out her tracker system. Flicking it on, she tacked in the tracer number she was searching for, and smiled slightly. She worked too hard, and way too long on bringing this case down, she didn't let them get away that easily. While in the midst of battle, she planted a tracer on the fleeing gang leader. If the man was as stupid as he seemed to be, he might even lead her to his hide out. The long haired teen looked up to him. Ambush didn't seem as much as a trouble for him, so she had an idea in mind for the powerful boy. "Would you like to come with me?" she offered, her form of saying thank you. Though it hurt now, her head ache should wear off by the time they arrive. Fixing her mask, that seemed to be knocked down from her blow to the head, she followed the tracker.

Adam watched as she took down men with excellent form. She didn't hold anything back, nor did she hesitate after making a blow. She was in the zone. And so was Adam. A man tried to sneak up behind him, but Adam knocked him senseless with a single blow. He wasn't focused on one man, however, he was focused on the full group. He didn't need to do anything spectacular to daunt them from doing anything like trying to get up once they were down. He cracked his knuckles without really noticing and turned to Eve.
"Yes, I'm fine." he replied, glancing back as a man started to retreat. "Oh, great, a-"
He stopped as Eve pulled out a tracker and hit the man with impeccible aim, reminding him slightly of Ace. His mouth formed a tight line suddenly. He knew he was going to be scolded once he returned to head quarters for leaving without clocking in, a way of making sure no one was gone for long. He doubted he would even make it back in time to keep Victrina free of suspicions.
At Lightning Strike's quip, he nodded. "Of course." he replied, his voice weathered slightly by fatigue. He got close to no sleep the night before, and he was definitely feeling it then.
After she readjusted her mask, they took off. He swallowed slightly on his way past an apartment before looking at her profile in the low light. Even without seeing her full face, there was no doubt that she was beautiful. And strong. He instantly thought of the team. They could really use someone like her, with Rio and Finn, and they'd really be set. His mind switched to them and switched back immediately. Awkwardly, Adam struggled to find a conversation starter.
"So, ah-" He stumbled over a rock, his ankle bending too far. Ouch. As soon as he noticed the pain, it disappeared. "-what's your name?"
He had two missions now.

"Of course."
Eve thought about running at full speed like she usually does, but noticing the sleepy he appeared to be, she kept her slow pace. She understood; Eve hasn't been getting much shut eyes these days. Sleeping during the day at only five hours, she does her usual masked rounds at night. The lack of sleep hasn't effected her that much, but it has made her a little more paranoid.
And that paranoia was kicking in now. Distancing herself from her helper, she kept at bay form him. She was ready and willing to shoot an arrow at him if he tried anything fast. With his strength and her sensitivity, he could easily kill her. Better be safe than sorry. Her hand was itching to grab an arrow, but she remained focused on the tracker. It was keeping a steady pace, constantly running North. She thought at this rate, walking was a better idea, for it's always good to keep distance.
Something felt...unnerving about the situation. She twisted her head toward Adam, who was staring right back at her. She looked straightforward, her cheeks a rosy shade of red. Why was he looking at her like that? Was there something wrong with her? In sheer embarrassing Desponia quickened her pace slightly. The grey eyed hero felt like flicking an arrow at him, in hope for his head to turn the other way as she still felt his eyes burning in to her skin.
Eve heard him try to start a conversation, before tripping over a rock. She couldn't help as a small giggle escaped her lips. As quick as her namesake, she was by his side, her hands resting lightly on his arms. "Are you alright?" she released her grip as he steadied himself. She now flanked him, and felt uncomfortable as their arms brushed against each other. Stepping away, she gave herself enough space to breathe.
"-what's your name?"
A small question, an innocent question. It would be acceptable for now, until she found out what his true intentions were. "Lightning Strike." she returned the small talk "And yours?" Evelyn hated small talk, with her mother and father they always had such elaborate and full conversations, to where the point Eve found small talk useless. But how to start such a worthy topic was indeed troubling for the ink-haired to start. Remembering back, it always started with lots of questions and detailed answers. "I named myself after my father's last project." she looked over his simple uniform. Simple, but protecting. "How did you find your name?"

"Fine," He answered, the pain evaporating.
With frustration, Adam clenched his teeth, his jaw tightening. Under his mask, his deep blue eyes studied their surroundings, trying to find something that could hint them on, other than what the guy brought them to. A single sign, a mark, a logo. Anything. But Eve answered his question. He listened silently before ducking under a low fire escape and catching his breath anew.
She asked for his name. "Stronghold." he said. He didn't really feel like elaborating, but she asked, and in order for her to feel comfortable, he had to answer all her questions without hesitation. Something he wasn't really used to. Ace couldn't given me another job? "My mentor gave it to me. Ace." He looked at her, a smirk on his face, teasing. "You've probably heard of him. Never misses." His smirk softened as he carried on the conversation. "I'm a test tube case, too. Sort of."
His eyes searched for anything that could be of use even still. Without warning, a few slashes in the shape of a circle over brick hit the wall, and he slowed, pointing up at it. "Look familiar to you?"

Eve stared at the barren waste land. Old buildings crumpled and steel jutted out against the rocks. Glass shards sprinkled the ground, and anyone without shoes would be putting their feet through serious pain. She read once that they dropped a bomb here during the war, which wasn't surprising due to the landscape. The soft crunching underneath her feet eased her to a point. The rain picked up harder, drenching her and her equipment. She didn't mind though, the only downside was it would be trickier to shoot arrows, but the experience would be good for her. All in all, Evelyn thought positive on the situation. Knowing there would be barricades, it'd be easier to take them down, the rain being a distraction. The wind roared in her ears, and the droplets were cool to the touch. It made her shiver, but she shrugged it off. Evelyn decided to treat herself to a nice warm cup of hot chocolate as well as cuddling with Bolt by the fire tonight after her victory. Listening intently on the conversation, she made note of everything she heard. Stronghold. It fit him nicely. Her silver eyes pierced in to his skin. He continued how his trainer gave it to him, Ace. Adam also mentioned that she's probably heard oh him, telling her what he was famous for. "Never misses?"[/i] So that meant he shot something. And by the look of her comrade's face, it must have been archery. Pouting slightly, she remembered times she's missed the crimson red dot that begged to be shot at. What kind of training did he have? Was he better than her father? The thought shook her. Eve dug through her memories, and she never saw her father miss. Her father was always the best, her hero, and the idea that someone was better than him unnerved her greatly. Eye brows knitted, she decided that tomorrow would be focused around accuracy training. Lost in thought, she barely caught his comment. So he was created a hero as well. Hopefully for better reasons. She became one to murder a notorious gang, and to some people that wasn't considered heroic. Eve felt a bit shamed, but what had to be done had to be done. She would not let such evil get away without a punishment. An eye for an eye, right? Sooner or later Adam discovered the gang's symbol. With a quick nod she answered his question. Retracting her bow, she slipped it in her quiver. The vigilante crouched down, before jumping up to climb over the wall. Peering over, she saw an entry that led underground, with two heavy guards blocking the entrance. Eve slid down, before turning back to Adam. "We first take down the guards outside, do a quick circle around the perimeter. After that, we meet back here and go back together." she explained seriously, pulling back out her bow. She checked the string, making sure it was tightened correctly. Lifting it up, she pulled on the string, as to shoot an arrow. "That is, if you have any other ideas." she mumbled without looking up. She knew he was he. The tracer said so, and he seemed to stop moving. All was left was to take him down, and she could return to her beloved home. "Never misses?" Eve repeated.
Adam smiled. "Yeah, absolutely! He has perfect aim. He never, ever doesn't hit a guy." he was like. "He can hit someone from a mile away, straight in the heart." His dark blue eyes twinkled with adoration. "He's amazing." Adam balled his hands into a fist. But he's going to kick my ass next time I see him. He thought ruefully.
"We first take down the guards outside, do a quick circle around the perimeter. After that, we meet back here and go back together."
Adam nodded. The plan was good enough. His hands skimmed the sharp, rusted surface of the cement wall, his fingers guarded by gloves. But he could feel the tug on the cloth, and he stopped his restless movement.
"Unless you have any other ideas?"
"No, no," he insisted. "Your idea is perfect. I'll get on that, then."
He jumped down from the tall wall, his feet pounding against the cement. Adam's back to the guards, he heard them shuffle nervously at the disturbance and shine flashlights toward him.
Shit.
"Hey, you! Turn around. Put your hands where we can see them!" one demanded.
He stood from the knees, slowly, his mind running at a million miles per hour. Adam's fingers scrambled at the cable-projection button in his palm, waiting for the right moment to strike.
"Hurry up, jack ass!"
Adam smirked.
"Only if you insist." he said, his voice dripping with mirth.
"What-"
Spinning on his heel, Adam flipped her wrist out towards them and slammed his finger on the button, the cable wrapping itself around one guard's ankle. Before he or she had a second to react, Adam pulled the cable, hard, and watched as the live body flew back, screams of terror echoing around the buildings.
The other guard opened fire, spewing obscenities as he did. Adam ignored one shot to his upper leg and jumped forward, kicking the guard aside in mid-air. The guard didn't fall immediately, just spun for a second, giving Adam plenty of time to drop kick him to the ground.
Sneakily, the guard tried to pull out another gun from his pocket, but Adam stepped on his wrist, a sharp crack emitting from his bones. The man winced.
"Sorry," Adam apologized, albeit a bit ruefully. "Can't let you try to shoot me again, right?"
The man struggled with words as blood trickled out of his mouth and down his cheek, over a rippling scar that wasn't dissimilar to Adam's own, on his wrists. "You're just a kid.." the guard wheezed. "What.. what are you.."
To the man's surprise, Stronghold smiled. "Maybe if you drink some fancy chemicals you'll be just as lucky," he told him, a few seconds before swiftly kicking the man's left temple, knocking him out.
Now that that was done, Adam looked to the entrance. It had a wide mouth, but there was a door pretty close to the opening of the wide overhang, with a padlock on it. Adam's brow burrowed in thought, before looking back at his casualty and spotting the small card clipped to his coat. He snatched it up, taking the card between his fore finger and thumb and sliding it through quickly, his palms shaking.
The screen over the padlock flashed, 'complete'.
At least if they needed the door open, it was. He droppped the key and headed around the side of the building.

Feeling the shock that rippled through the ground, Eve winced. She rolled her eyes as she heard guards shouting at him. She had...a very different way of approaching her targets. Weaving in an out of the shadows, she tried to become one with them. Her bright uniform was a dead give away, but with the oncoming lightning, it was best to make her move. She was wrong, things were going spectacular for her tonight. She took the lightning was a sign. It was going to be her tonight. With a smack of light, she dashed out to another location. Her long hair whipped behind her, darting in snake-like movements. Catching sight of two teens, her showed her the guns that were in her their hands. Fiddling through her quiver, she sorted for her knockout arrows. The arrows would release a gas when hit on target that left the victims unconscious for six hours. Skillfully, she released her grip on the arrow, hitting one of them straight in the chess. Before the other knew what hit him, she shot another at him. The two dropped to the ground in seconds.
Evelyn bolted along further down, wiping out five more gangsters. Before attacking, she listened on any helpful information. Sadly, they only talked about last night's sporting games or how hot this one girl looked in this pair of whatever. Eve grunted as she propelled herself off the wall. She tsked as she retrieved her useful arrows. Boys should know how to treat a girl like a lady, not oogle over their bodies. At the sound of screams, her head twisted around. They were certainly not Adam's so she figured he did his job. At the mention of his work, inspiration ran throughout her body. He could take anyone down fluently without breaking a sweat. It seemed a bit rushed, as she took time and elaborate scheming in to her plans, but it was still amazing nonetheless. With a quick sweep, she made the area was secure before heading back to their rendezvous point. Eve kept a watchful eye for the sloppily placed security cameras, and disabled them with a simple arrow. Though behind the wall, she kept light-footed and well hidden in the darkness. The moon light bounced off her outfit, and truly looked as though she was bursting with lightning.
Eve heard Adam before she saw him, and warily kept in the shadows. When she knew for sure it was him, she stepped out in to the light. She had a view of his back side, but by his body size and grey and black outfit she knew it was him. Her voice, though soft, was carried by the wind. "Are we ready to proceed? For I am ready." she clutched on to her bow, three arrows begging for her to be released rested in her other hand. The Mediterranean girl walked near him, glimpsing at the open door. Her silver eyes lingered back to him, flashing with anticipation. Soon, she was to end this case. Soon, she was to go back home.
And soon, she was able to restart the whole process over again.

Adam winced as he stopped by Eve, taking a quick swipe at the wound on his upper leg. It spit blood faster than a copy machine despensed paper, his uniform cut around the edges of it. He get down on one of his thighs, his weight on the shin, and pushed out his leg to examine the wound in full. It stung a little, but leaving blood behind was the bigger issue. He had to find someway to patch it up before they moved on.
He looked up at Eve. "Got any spare cloth or anything?" he asked. He didn't really want to bother her, so he pulled away at the first layer of his shirt, and ripped some of it away. He quickly applied it to the wound, wrapping it around his leg fast, like he does in the gym when he applies it to his knuckles. His biceps bulged as he worked them fast, trying to keep up to Eve's pace so that they could figure this out and move on. As he finished, he jumped up, his legs unfolding like a folding chair.
"Ready. What's the plan, now?"

As the teenager approached him, she could tell he was hurt. His wince even proved herself to be true. She was quite surprised when he split his own wound open, a bit unsettled as the blood flowed. Before Eve could voice her concern he crouched down to take a look at the injury.
Looking up at her, he asked for something to bound it up. "I...yes, uh-" she kept her eyes on the scarlet liquid that flooded. She hated, no, despised that color. It was such an angry color, so full of hate and just about yelled "pay attention to me!" She preferred the dark cool colors that blended so well with it's surroundings, that was so adaptable to any situation. Red suck out like a sore thumb, greedily catching the attention of anything that walked near it.
Her train of thought was disrupted as she noticed he took a piece of his own uniform to bandage it. "-I see you have it covered." she recovered herself with. His muscles were large and fairly toned, and she couldn't help but agree they did suit him nicely. It only made sense that someone with super strength would need arms like that. He sprung up as though he was a spring.
"Ready. What's the plan, now?"
Eve rested her chin in hand, eyebrows crunched as she concentrated. "We have to be careful. We don't know how many of them are in there, or what type of utility they are armed with. Most likely there will be guards at door. Take them out. Quietly." she added on after a moment of consideration. "We want to take them down without disturbance as much as we can. We'll stay in the shadows, and take them down one by one. After that, we locate the police and we''ll be done. If anything goes wrong, we'll rely on your strength and my gas arrows to pull us out of there." she nodded as though she was agreeing with herself. The plan was valid, slow, but it'll get the job done.
Slightly crouching, she kept an arrow ready and her bow close to her chest as she pressed her back near the door. She'd wait for Adam do his job before infiltrating the base.

Adam looked her straight in the eye. "Got it. Quiet."
Standing on his injury, he winced slightly, his eyes rimming with tears for a second. Invulnerability had it's holes, he guessed, as he, carefully as possible, walked in the door of the facility. Bullets. Why couldn't he have the ability to be bullet proof? That would really be great in a time like this, he thought, really, really great.
Two guards stood meters away, their backs to the enterance, which made Adam smile. This would be a walk in the park, if it continued as so. He studied the backs of the men in front of him, remembering Jacob's words about pressure points and such. He quickly found them, muscles on the shoulders of the first man, and the lack thereof on the other. Not a problem, seeing as it would work either way.
The first man went down without a problem, crumpling to the floor into a heap. The second man turned, ready to fire, shaking in his boots. Adam caught the front of his gun, smirking at him.
"Tough first day, huh?" he asked, not waiting for an answer. He pulled his right fist back for a punch, the man going down immediately, crumpling to the floor. Adam took his gun, a .24 caliber, and ran down the narrow hallway to the door, beckoning to Eve to come on.
